Our large 12 metre pool is situated in our landscaped  garden area with barbecue facilities.

    The Girls

The Girls – Evans Head is still very much a friendly village – your stay here is enhanced by our staff who take a very personal interest in the cleanliness and wellbeing of the motel. You will feel like a home away from home in Evans Head.

    State Forest

We are surrounded by national parks, the Bundjalung to the south and Broadwater to the north. These border Evans Head to the extent of no more land being available for sale thus keeping this town very much as it is now.

    Comfortable Accommodation

We have a variety of rooms from small double rooms, larger queen or twin rooms up to a family room sleeping up to 6 people. All rooms are air conditioned with ensuites, fridges, toasters, tea/coffee making facilities, TV and free Wi-Fi and most rooms have microwaves.

    Beaches

From the lookout we see Shark Bay at the base of the hill, then the sea walls leading into the river and the boat harbour. On the far side of the wall is the main beach which is patrolled during the summer season – shark net are also installed at this beach. The beach stretches out on to Air force beach which is dog friendly and a four wheel drive recreational area.

    Fresh Local Seafood

Prawning was actually started in Australia here in Evans Head many years ago by Mr. Evans Paddon whose family still lives in this area. Trawlers still deliver fresh sea food to the Co’op every day. We are still very much a fishing village with a variety of spots on the bank, rocks and many beaches.

    Beautiful location

We are 5 minutes walk from Airforce beach. Chinamans beach and New Zealand beach are often sheltered from the southerly winds and are usually almost deserted. This is a favourite spot for surfboard riders with the swell around Goanna Headland which has been a mythical site of great importance to the Bunjalung people for thousands of years.

    Fish in the picturesque river

Evans River is about 3 minutes’ walk from the motel and is tranquil with large sand banks ideal for swimming – especially children. There are barbecues, amenities and a food outlet on the river bank. Fishing is easy on the banks or the walls leading to the sea. All is easy walking from the motel. The Evans River was named for Lieutenant Evans who was engaged by the government of the time to complete a coastal survey on a chartered ship captained by Tom Paddon. Tom was to become the first white settler to Evans Head. Attracted by gold fossicking on beaches to the south of the town he built the first hotel in 1877.
